The completely redesigned controls bar
The central controls bar in Ampado was rebuilt from the ground up: modern design, an easy to read time display, clear switches and handy dials. Here is everything new at a glance.
The completely redesigned controls bar in Ampado with its new time display
The controls bar is the heart of Ampado. This is where you start playback, move through your file, adjust the volume and keep an eye on the time. We have completely redesigned this central area. The result not only looks better, it also feels like professional audio software.
New icons, clearer switches, an easy to read time display and a tidy layout: every element now sits exactly where you expect it. In this post we walk you through everything new on the controls bar in detail.
A design that looks like the studio
The new controls bar was designed from scratch. Dark surfaces, subtle contrast and clearly drawn icons create a calm, professional overall impression. Nothing distracts anymore, everything important stands out right away.
The transport buttons in the center, that is previous track, rewind, stop, play, repeat, fast forward and next track, now follow one consistent style. This way you recognize every function at a glance, just like you know it from high quality audio software.
The new time display always in view
New is an easy to read display of the current playback time right in the controls bar. The time appears in clear type in the format hours, minutes and seconds, so you always know exactly where you are in your file.
Right next to it you see the current playback speed. When you play faster or slower, the value adjusts instantly. This way you always have time and tempo in view together, without having to switch to another menu.
Dedicated switches for AutoPlay, Shuffle and more
AutoPlay and Shuffle are now designed as clear switches. At a glance you can tell whether a function is active, because an active switch lights up clearly. No more guessing whether a setting is currently in effect or not.
Mute and repeat have their own easily recognizable icons too. These switches follow common standards, so they feel familiar right away and are intuitive to use.
Zoom, Pan and Volume as dials
On the right edge of the controls bar you find three dials for Zoom, Pan and Volume. They show their current value right in the center and can be set precisely. The glowing ring around the dial makes it immediately clear how far you have turned it up.
And here is how you operate the dials: click on a dial, hold the mouse button down and then simply drag up or down. Dragging up increases the value, dragging down decreases it. The vertical movement is what matters, so you do not turn in a circle and do not drag sideways, you simply move the mouse up and down while holding the button.
This gives you the most important settings for view and sound within easy reach in one place. Zoom for the waveform, Pan for the balance between left and right and Volume for the level, all without a detour through nested menus.
Clear, familiar and faster every day
The new layout groups related functions in a sensible way. On the left the options like AutoPlay and Shuffle, in the center the transport buttons, on the right time, tempo and the dials. This clear order makes your daily work noticeably faster.
Because the controls bar follows standards from professional audio software, you find your way around immediately, even if you open Ampado for the first time. Familiar icons, clear switches and a calm design let you focus on your sound instead of on the controls.
For everyone in Ampado
The redesigned controls bar is part of Ampado and available to everyone, in the free version (lite) just as in Ampado PRO. Download Ampado on the Mac App Store and experience the new look the next time you open it.
